Common composite structures and application directions

The following structures are examples of common combinations. The actual number of layers, thickness and adhesive system need to be confirmed based on the content, shelf life and equipment conditions.

BOPP / CPP

It has a balance of transparency, printing adaptability and heat sealing performance, and is suitable for conventional food and daily chemical flexible packaging.

Typical applications:Biscuits, snacks, flour products, paper towels and daily necessities packaging.

PET / CPP

It has dimensional stability, better heat resistance and stiffness, and is suitable for high-speed bag making, temperature-resistant packaging and some easy-to-remove structures.

Typical applications:Condiments, frozen foods, tray covers and high quality printed bags.

PA / CPP

With good puncture resistance and flexibility, it is suitable for items with bones, sharp points or that need to be resistant to drops.

Typical applications:Meat products, frozen foods, vacuum bags and heavy duty flexible packaging.

PE / EVOH / PE

Transparent, high-barrier, multi-layer co-extrusion, which can reduce oxygen penetration while maintaining heat sealability.

Typical applications:Cheese, meat products, sauces, liquids and modified atmosphere packaging.

PET / VMPET / PE

The aluminum coating provides light shielding and barrier, PET is responsible for printing and mechanical strength, and PE provides heat sealing.

Typical applications:Coffee, nuts, tea, powders and high barrier snack packaging.

PET / AL / RCPP

Aluminum foil provides high-level barrier, and RCPP is responsible for high-temperature heat sealing, suitable for retort and long shelf life structures.

Application and Compliance Instructions

Final compliance of composite membranes depends on the complete structure, adhesive, ink, content contact layer and conditions of use. When used in food, pharmaceutical, medical, cooking or long-term storage, migration, solvent residue, post-cooking performance, sealing, barrier and relevant regulatory testing should be added according to the end use.

Selection guide

Composite membrane quick selection

It is easier to obtain stable results by clarifying the contents and usage conditions first, and then designing the structure than directly specifying a certain material.
